The Global Trade Station

The Global Trade Station, or GTS for short, is a great new addition to the Pokemon games. This facility allows you to trade Pokemon with players from all around the world to complete your collection. Be warned though, there are many conditions, and here they are for your reference:

  • To access the GTS, you will need WiFi.
  • To request a Pokemon in the GTS, you need to have seen or caught this Pokemon in your current game beforehand.

  • Once you have access to WiFi, go to Jubilife City. The GTS is located near the Pokemon Center, in an area that was previously blocked. Here, you may enter the GTS to put Pokemon up for trade. Using the globe in the lobby, you may register your location in the real world for the people trading with you to see.

    In the GTS

Once you enter the GTS, you may put Pokemon up for trade or see what is being offered. If you put a Pokemon up for trade, it must be in your P.C. It will be stored in the GTS, waiting for someone with the Pokemon you are asking for to come along and trade with you. The GTS will not alert you to when your Pokemon has been traded, so be sure to check often!

In the GTS, you can see the countries, nicknames, and names of the trainers of the Pokemon being offered. Also, shiny Pokemon will be shown as shiny, so you can instantly know if they are and try to get those rare Pokemon! In the GTS, be sure to ask for reasonable trades, do not offer a Starly for a Dialga, that is ridiculous and you will most likely not get a trade.

    Pokemon Platinum GTS Changes

Pokemon Platinum has a different GTS, with a new look, more floors, and new features. Not everything is known at this time, but it is known that here, you can share recordings of battles you did with the new item, the "Battle Recorder", and searching for Pokemon has been made easier and more efficient.

    Be Cautious

Here is a warning about the GTS. The Pokemon you get may have nicknames, be hacked, or have things you may not want. Also a lot of people are scam artists and ask for ridiculous things to trade for their "valuable" Pokemon. So be careful on what you trade and who you trade with.
